AT A GLANCE
What we bring to each project
Light as a design foundation
We treat natural and artificial light as primary materials — observed, documented, and designed around before anything else is chosen.
Spatial intelligence
Proportion, circulation, and the relationship between areas are considered together — not added up separately and hoped to work.
Material knowledge
We know Malaysian materials well — how local timber ages, how different stone responds to humidity, which finishes hold in tropical conditions.
Personal, unhurried service
We keep our client list small by choice. Each project gets sustained attention, not a few hours allocated between a dozen others.
Clear documentation
Every project produces a full specification package — materials, dimensions, lighting positions, supplier references — so you are never left with uncertainty after we leave.
KL-native understanding
We design for Kuala Lumpur's light, climate, and building culture — not from a template developed elsewhere and applied without adjustment.
Expertise and experience
Tylum's founding team comes from architectural and residential design practice with work completed across the Klang Valley. This experience means we have encountered most of the challenges a project can present — and we are not learning on your time.
- Grounded in architectural thinking, not only interior decoration
- Residential, villa, and commercial project experience
- Deep familiarity with Malaysia's contractor and supplier networks
Process and methodology
Our process begins with observation rather than proposal. We visit your space before forming any design direction, and we document what we find in writing. From that foundation, decisions are made carefully and with explanation.
- Structured site visit before any design work begins
- Written summaries provided after each project phase
- Two revision rounds included in full design projects
Client care and communication
We respond to questions promptly and keep communication straightforward. If something is changing, you will hear about it from us before you notice it yourself. We do not believe in presenting surprises — only in presenting ideas.
- Dedicated point of contact throughout each project
- Clear, plain-language explanations of design decisions
- Comfortable pace — never rushed into decisions
Value and pricing
Our services are priced clearly, and every cost is discussed before it is incurred. We do not mark up on procurement and we do not encourage spending beyond what a space genuinely needs. The objective is a well-resolved interior, not a large invoice.
- Fixed service fees — no hidden additions
- Transparent discussion of all project costs from the outset
- Entry-level consultation available from MYR 460
Results and outcomes
The measure of a well-designed interior is how it feels to live or work in over time — not how it photographs at hand-over. We design for daily use, for comfort at different times of day, and for spaces that do not tire quickly.
- 3D renders showing the space in multiple light conditions
- Designs that age well through material and proportional restraint
- Spaces that feel right for the people who live in them

WHAT SETS US APART
Things you will not find elsewhere
The Light & Space Review
A standalone consultation service — at MYR 460, it gives you a rigorous, written assessment of your space's light conditions and spatial character without committing to a full project. Most firms do not offer this as a separate service at all.
Multi-condition 3D renders
Our renders show the space in different light conditions — morning, afternoon, evening — so you understand how the design will feel across the day, not just in one idealized state.
Procurement without markup
We do not earn commissions on materials or furniture. Our recommendations are made because they suit your space — not because they benefit our margin.
End-to-end continuity
If you choose Daylight-to-Dusk Oversight, the same team that designed your space manages the construction. Nothing is handed off to a project manager who was not present when the design was shaped.
